Out-of-hours Care

At NG Smiles, our aim is to provide timely emergency care within 24 hours. As dental emergencies can strike at any time, we know how important it is for you to have a line of contact with us when you need it most. That’s why we offer out-of-hours appointments and weekend appointments.

What we can help with:

If you’re in pain, we will make sure you are sent home with the right painkillers and antibiotics (if clinically appropriate), as well as clear aftercare instructions to help you look after the affected area. If you’re at all unsure about anything after your appointment, please don’t hesitate to get back in touch. There’s no such thing as a dense question when it comes to your health.

What is considered a dental emergency?

Some of the most common dental emergencies involve wisdom teeth becoming impacted, partially dislodged teeth due to injury, and abscesses due to dental infections.

If you’re unsure your condition warrants an emergency slot, please get in touch. It’s always better to have peace of mind, and in many cases, the quicker you’re seen, the more chance there is of avoiding a tooth extraction.

Should I go directly to A&E for a dental emergency?

We recommend avoiding A&E if you suffer a dental emergency. The majority of doctors do not have the resources to deal with a dental emergency, so you may be told to see a dentist.

You should go to A&E if you suffer any of the following:

Swelling that makes it hard to breathe or swallow.
Uncontrollable bleeding in the mouth.
Swelling in your jaw or neck that occurs after dental issues.

How much are dental emergency appointments?

Our emergency consultations are £95. Should we need to perform any restorative treatment, we will provide you with a quote for this. This may need to be performed at a follow-up appointment, though in some cases, we can perform minor restorative treatments like fillings during your emergency appointment.

I had a hygienist appointment with Inga who was amazing. So friendly and welcoming and did an amazing job cleaning my teeth! So happy with the results! The process was painless too which was great since I heard to expect pain and got worried.Shinto was very helpful in reception when I arrived to the practice. I visited NG Smiles for a deep clean, checkup and teeth whitening. I was treated by the incredible Neha Gokani who made a usually very nervous patient feel completely at ease in her chair.
